New to Reception Parent Information

Hazel and Rowan Class

In Reception we see every child as strong confident and competent.

Children who have their own strong ideas.

Children are encouraged to express opinions and make confident choices.

Together, children learn about respecting other people, co-operating and sharing.

We know the difference early years provision can make to the life chances and opportunities that children have access to in later life; we value conversation, language and the ability to communicate effectively.

We are proud to be developing our practice in ‘Sustained Shared Thinking’ and ensuring our children have a voice.

We are particularly proud of our Early Years Provision and the approach we take in our setting to nurture the whole and ‘Unique Child’. We use Development Matters to inform our practice and follow the 17 Early Learning Goals as a  guide to ensuring our provision meets the needs of all learners.

Our Phase Leader is Ms Miller

Reception Learning Journey

Dear Parent/Carer

The children each have a Learning Journey book.

This is where their time in Reception is recorded with observations, photographs and the children's achievements.

Thank you for your Support

Autumn Term 2 2021: If you go down to the woods & Festivals

Spring Term 2 2022: What is in our Environment?

Summer Term 1 2022: We are Nature Guardians.

Summer Term 2 2022: Where are we going?

This book is for you to share with your children. This is a book about the coronavirus by the children's author Alex Scheffler.
