Our teachers are Miss Fuller and Miss Darji.
Mrs Blyth helps us along the way too.
Year Five have PE on Thursday and Friday. It is important that your child has a PE kit in school. All items of kit should be labelled with their name. The children are allowed to bring in a pair of tracksuit bottoms and a long sleeved top to do outdoor PE during the cold weather. Long hair needs to be tied back for PE. Jewellery and earrings need to be left at home on these days. The children may have a deodorant in school in their PE kit. This needs to be of the ‘roll-on’ type as sprays can cause breathing difficulties for children with asthma or other respiratory conditions.
Spellings will be sent home on a Monday and will be tested on the following Monday.
Year Five use the School Library once a week and they will get the opportunity then to change their Library books if they wish. This term we will be visiting the library on a Tuesday afternoon.
In Year Five, children are expected to read every day at home, independently or to an adult. Please sign your child’s Home School Reading-Homework book at least three times a week.
English and Maths homework will be given once a week on Friday and should be returned on the following Friday. Additional topic homework may also be given but not on a weekly basis. Children should also regularly practice spellings and times tables.
We look forward to a happy and successful year in partnership with your child!
