CASUAL & PERMANENT MIDDAY ASSISTANT

 

TERM TIME ONLY

 

Scale – 1

 

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our warm and happy school. Whitehall is a collaborative and inclusive school in Waltham Forest which is committed to ensuring the very best outcomes for all members of our school community. We are very proud to also have a Specialist Resource Provision for Deaf pupils.

 

We are looking to appoint casual midday assistants who will support he children through lunchtimes. This will include supporting in the dinner hall and lunch duties as well as supervision in the playground. Experience in this field of work would be an advantage.

 

Closing date for applications: 12pm on Friday, 1st July 2022. We reserve the right to interview and appoint prior to the specified closing date. This is an exciting opportunity to support the school in raising standards and to help drive the school forward in its new direction. This post will suit a practitioner who has high expectations of themselves and their pupils and who is ambitious and driven to deliver on outcomes both academically and in developing the whole child. There is also the possibility of a TLR in Art and Design Technology and for Humanities.

 

We are looking for:

  • Excellent classroom practitioner who is able to support colleagues to raise their teaching practice
  • Highly motivated, innovative and have a strong work ethos to support the vision of the school
  • Have good interpersonal skills and be able to work well as part of our team;
  • Have unconditional positive regard for children and be community minded;
  • Resilient and work well under pressure

 

Main responsibilities

  • Working co-operatively with other teachers and support staff in the class
  • To understand what constitutes quality care and education
  • To have a thorough knowledge and understanding of child development
  • To demonstrate a thorough knowledge of safeguarding children
  • To ensure that best practice is employed
  • To provide a warm, caring and stimulating environment for the children
  • To show personal and professional integrity and confidentiality
  • To attend and contribute to staff meetings, training sessions and inset days
