STEM Week - 'Innovating for the future'
Tue 30 Mar 2021STEM Week at Whitehall was a huge success and a great second week back for all! Innovating for the future - the overall theme of STEM Week had our pupils thinking critically and full of wonder about the way we live in today's world.
Over the course of the week, we focused on three sub themes: steps to sustainability, not so fantastic plastic and space tourists. The children were encouraged to explore and design new ways of tackling real life issues such as plastic pollution in the ocean, sustainable energy sources and designing equipment for use in space.
When presenting the work produced in school and at home, it has come to light that we have many aspiring inventors, engineers and eco-warriors among us!

World Book Day 2021
Fri 05 Mar 2021The theme for World Book Day this year is 'Share a Story' and even though we are learning remotely, at the moment, we have still managed to enjoy stories and have fun. Adults in school became Secret Story Tellers and recorded their favourite stories via Google Classroom. There were some familiar, friendly faces and a few brand-new members of the Whitehall community to get to know too!
As part of the 'Share a Story' theme, budding story tellers were asked to share their favourite stories via Google Classroom. Click the link below to see a selection of some of our Year One Whitehall Story Tellers reading their favourite stories for you to enjoy!
