  • Earthquake Appeal

    Fri 24 Feb 2023

    Thank you!

£933 raised for the Earthquake Appeal

The School Council representatives came together and decided that they  would like to help Turkey and Syria by holding a non-school uniform event on Friday 24th February.  They asked that children bring £1 or more to help support those in need.

We are all extremely grateful and would like to thank all those that took part for their generosity.

  • Non-school uniform event on Friday 24th February.

    Wed 22 Feb 2023

    Dear Whitehall Community,

There was a series of devastating earthquakes that have hit southern Turkey (now known as Türkiye) and north-west Syria killing over 44,000 people and injuring many more.

The School Council representatives have come together and decided that we would like to help Turkey and Syria by holding a non-school uniform event on Friday 24th February.

We ask that you bring £1 or more to help support those in need. We appreciate that this is short notice; however, this is urgent action for an urgent situation.

We hope you will be supportive in taking part in this event.

    Yours sincerely,

    Whitehall School Council

  • PSA Annual General Meeting (AGM) – 24 February 2023

    Fri 10 Feb 2023

    PSA Annual General Meeting (AGM)

    24 February 2023

We hereby give notice of the AGM of Whitehall Primary School PSA, to be held on Friday 24th February.  The meeting will commence at 9.15am.  We anticipate that the AGM should last approximately 20 minutes.

The PSA plays a vital part in the school community and all parents, as members of the PSA, are invited to support the AGM.  This is your chance to hear and see how the funds you have helped to raise have been used and are planning to be used, for the benefit of the children at our school.

The AGM is also an opportunity for you to elect the PSA Committee, to represent the association throughout the forthcoming academic year.  Nominations should be sent in advance of the AGM, for existing committee members willing to stand for re-election and for anyone wishing to stand as an Officer or Ordinary Committee Member, for the first time.  This year we are specifically looking for a new Chair, Treasurer, Secretary (these three roles can be co-shared) and Ordinary Committee Members.

Whitehall is a forward- thinking school so we are really looking for members with enthusiasm and creative ideas to further engage our school community in activities that bring us together.  We are looking for members who are open, collaborative and able to work well with others to further enhance our provision and opportunities for our children.

If you would like any further information about what is involved in being a Committee Member, please speak to Mrs Hughes.  As our PSA is a registered charity, all committee members automatically become Trustees of the Charity.

If you are interested in being a part of our PSA Committee, please complete the google form below by Wednesday 22nd February at the latest.

We look forward to seeing you on Friday 24th February.

    Regards,

  • What is a Rights Respecting School?

    Fri 20 Jan 2023

As you may be aware, we have recently received the Rights Respecting Schools Gold award.  The children have produced a video to exemplify what it means to be a rights respecting school and showcase how proud they are of this award, and the impact it has had on them.

Click here to see the video.  You can read the full report in this week's newsletter.

  • Friday end of day arrangements

    Thu 15 Dec 2022

    Dear all,

As you would have seen yesterday, substantial parts of the playground remain covered in snow.   As we did yesterday,  we will stagger the end of the day today.

As we finish earlier today for the end of term, we will have a staggered finish for all from 1.30-2pm.  All children, regardless of year group, can be collected between 1.30-2pm.

Please only use the paths created when on school site as more melted snow is creating black ice and is extremely dangerous to children, parents and staff.

    Many thanks,

  • Collection at the end of the school day

    Wed 14 Dec 2022

    Dear all,

Substantial parts of the playground remained covered in snow which means that a staggered end to the day will be the only way we can manage to get parents on site and dismiss children safely.

Like we did for Covid, we will stagger the end of the day to the times below and allow families with siblings in other classes to pick up their children with the youngest child they are collecting as well. If parents are unable to make the times below, we will, of course, hold onto the children until the end of the normal school day.

Please see end of the day times below:

    Nursery, Reception, Y1 and Y2:                2:45pm

    Year 3, 4, 5, 6                                               3:00pm

Please only use the paths created when on school site as more melted snow is creating black ice and is extremely dangerous to children, parents and staff.

    Many thanks,
